ClearyDoyle is delighted to share the successful completion and handover of the Homeville Knocklyon Residential Project, delivered in partnership with South Dublin County Council. This rapid-build social housing scheme represents an important milestone in providing high-quality, energy-efficient homes for families in the South Dublin area.

Homeville Knocklyon Residential Project

Project Overview & Housing Delivery
The Homeville Knocklyon Residential Project is a rapid-build social housing development located on Old Knocklyon Road at the Homeville end in Firhouse, Dublin 16, bounded by Firhouse Road and the M50 (opposite Homeville Court). The scheme provides 16 new homes in a well-integrated layout designed to respond to local housing needs.

The finished development includes a mix of seven two-storey, three-bedroom/five-person houses and none three-storey, two-bedroom/three-person apartments, arranged in terraced groupings to create a cohesive, sustainable residential setting.

Sustainability and Quality Standards

All homes were constructed to modern performance requirements with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. Key outcomes include:

– Minimum A2 BER rating across all units

– High levels of fabric efficiency and airtightness

– Durable materials selected for lifecycle value and low maintenance

– Homes designed to support comfort, health, and reduced energy costs for residents.

This aligns directly with national and local objectives for decarbonisation and ensures occupants benefit from warm, efficient homes from day one.

A Collaborative Achievement

Delivering social housing at pace, without compromising quality, requires real collaboration. We want to acknowledge the professionalism and support of everyone involved, including:

– South Dublin County Council for their leadership and partnership

– The full design team and statutory stakeholders

– Our subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams who executed to programme

– The local community for their engagement throughout delivery
This project is a testament to what can be achieved when shared purpose, structured planning, and a commitment to quality come together.

Looking Ahead

The Homeville Knocklyon project adds meaningful capacity to the local housing stock and demonstrates the effectiveness of rapid-build delivery in meeting urgent housing demand. We are proud to have played our part in delivering these homes and supporting South Dublin County Council’s wider programme of sustainable social housing delivery.
