Build With Wood Conference

Showcasing the future of timber construction at the Build With Wood Conference 2025

ClearyDoyle was honoured to present our Deansrath Design &Build project for South Dublin County Council at the Build With Wood Conference 2025, held at Beyond the Trees Avondale, Co Wicklow, in October 2025.

Our presentation, delivered by ClearyDoyle Joint Managing Director Brian Byrne, demonstrated the potential for homegrown timber frame construction in delivering high-quality, sustainable housing across Ireland.

Driving sustainable change

This year’s conference theme, “From Policy to Practice,” captured the collective ambition to turn ideas into action. The event, attended by Minister of State Michael Healy-Rae TD, featured speakers from government, academia, and industry, all focused on accelerating Ireland’s transition to low-carbon construction.

Our sincere thanks to Coillte, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and all who contributed to this inspiring event. Together, we are creating a clear pathway to increased use of wood in Irish construction and a more sustainable built environment for the future.

Building with Purpose
The Deansrath project reflects our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and carbon-conscious design.

The flagship Deansrath project involves the construction of 27 age-friendly homes, a community room, and associated open spaces, along with all necessary site works.

The collaboration between SDCC and Coillte centres on the unique “Homegrown Timber Frame Housing Project”.

As the main contractor, Cleary Doyle is integral to realising the vision of using low-carbon, homegrown Irish timber to construct the housing. This commitment directly supports sustainable construction, reduces carbon emissions, and helps Ireland meet its climate targets.

The development demonstrates the potential of utilising Irish-grown timber in mainstream residential construction. The homes are being built to high A1 BER energy efficiency standards using modern off-site timber frame construction methods.

The timber frame structures and locally sourced timber are supplied by DTE Manufacturing Ltd, part of Glennon Brothers, which highlights a powerful, fully integrated domestic supply chain – from forest to front door.
